Tracey Erin Smith – Artistic Director
Tracey Erin Smith is an award winning performer, writer and teacher who believes in crazy-wisdom and practices reverent irreverence. Smith is the founder of the award-winning SOULO Theatre Company (Best Small Theatre, NOW Magazine 2014) the Artistic Director of Toronto’s SOULO Theatre Festival, SOULO NYC and the Co-Founder of the Totnes SOULO Theatre Festival in England. Smith recently won a Broadway World Toronto Award for her latest solo show, “Memento Mori”. Her plays have been Critic’s Pick in BackStage Magazine NYC, and a two time winners of ‘Best of the Toronto Fringe Festival’ and the ‘Audience Choice Award’ in New York City’s Frigid Festival. Terrence Bryant – Associate Producer
Terrence Bryant is an award-winning actor. His recent theatre credits include: Piece By Piece (Next Stage Festival 2015), Tuesdays with Morrie (Campbell House Museum 2014), Terre Haute (winner of the Spotlight Award for Outstanding Performance Summerworks 2012), Soulo (2012 Fringe Festival), The Dining Room (Dora Nominee for Best Ensemble). Film and TV credits include: Schitt’s Creek, This is Wonderland, Degrassi: The Next Generation, Murdock Mysteries, Covert Affairs, and Cracked.

James Alan – General Manager
James Alan is a magician… literally. He is the host and producer Magic Tonight, a weekly show that features local mystery entertainers along with international guests and also provides opportunities for up-and-coming performers. He has produced two one-person shows,The Uncertainty Project (2014) and Lies, Damn Lies & Magic Tricks (2012) and has worked extensively with Magicana, an organization dedicated to advancing magic as a performance art, in delivering their community outreach programs My Magic Hands and Senior Sorcery for the young and young at heart respectively. www.JamesAlan.ca | www.MagicTonight.ca
Franny McCabe Bennett – Box Office & FOH Manager
Franny McCabe-Bennett is an actor, singer, writer and arts administrator. She recently performed her solo show “These Aren’t My Real Boobs (This Isn’t My Real Stomach)” at Theaterlab in New York City with plans to develop it further and remount in Toronto. With her theatre company/sketch duo Two Juliets, “Franny has performed “XOXO: The Relationship Show”, an award-winning comedy cabaret, in Stratford, Toronto, Hamilton and will be presenting at the Toronto and Winnipeg Fringe Festivals this July. Franny has been working in box office and front of house positions across Toronto for the past 5 years. She is delighted to return as the SOULO Theatre Festival’s Box Office & Front of House Manager.
Natalie Gisele – Production Manager
Natalie started stage managing in Ottawa after she graduated from the Theatre Arts Program at Algonquin College. She began her apprenticeship with Great Canadian Theatre Company and with Factory Theatre. She has since stage managed many productions such as; Emmerdeur (Theatre Francais Toronto), Another Home Invasion (Tarragon Theatre), Wish Upon a Star (PG Productions), as well as Bell, Book & Candle and The Voice of the Turtle and Star Spangled Girl with the Classic Theatre Festival. Currently she is working as the new production manager with Theatre Francais de Toronto.
Lisa Alves – Soulo Intern
Lisa Alves, an actor and writer, was born and raised in Mississauga. Lisa wrote and performed her solo show, The Visitations, under the mentorship of Tracey Erin Smith in 2014. She was involved in the first annual 2014 Theatre Relay where she wrote and directed A Nun’s Conundrum and performed Charles Manzo’s Chuckles and Squeakums. Lisa has been a faculty member at StageCoach Oakville since 2011 with Tosha Doiron and is currently working at StageCoach Toronto West with Mary Long. A graduate of Humber College’s Theatre Performance Program, Lisa has appeared in workshop productions including The Fight, a TYA piece directed by Marie Beath Badian, The Oresteia directed by Alex McLean and Marissa Zinni, and Machinal directed by Nancy Palk. Lisa has performed in Shakespeare’s A Comedy of Errors and Twelfth Night. In February, she appeared as Dido in This Side of Heaven directed by Varrick Grimes and Kiersten Tough, and currently just finished the run of Approaching Zero at Theatre Passe Muraille’s Backspace with her 29 person Calm, Cool & Collective. This summer, she is working with Milkweed Collective to help develop and facilitate their Exploring Creativity in Depth Program. Lisa is super excited to working with the Soulo Family again for her 3rd year.
Meghan Chalmers – Box Office Assistant
Meghan Chalmers is a recent graduate of the Theatre Performance program at Humber College, and is currently working towards a BFA in Theatre at York University. Meghan is certified in basic stage combat and was the recipient of a Humber Theatre Performance Award. After her theatre company, Two Juliets (twojuliets.com) won the People’s Choice Award at the SpringWorks Festival in Stratford and performed to sold-out houses at Hamilton Fringe last summer, they will be part of this year’s Toronto Fringe Festival and will also be travelling to Winnipeg for the Winnipeg Fringe! In May 2013 she was the assistant box office manager and volunteer supervisor for the SoulOTheatre Festival, and she can’t wait to return to SoulO this year!
